The Government of Canada recently announced a new GST relief initiative aimed at supporting first-time homebuyers and boosting new home construction across the country. That means substantial savings for those purchasing newly built homes—including those built by Prominent Homes.

What’s New?

Effective for purchase agreements signed on or after May 27, 2025, first-time homebuyers are eligible for 100% GST relief on new homes priced up to $1 million. Homes priced between $1 million and $1.5 million may qualify for a partial GST rebate, with the benefit phasing out entirely beyond that threshold.

Who Qualifies?

You may be eligible if:

  • You're a first-time homebuyer purchasing a newly constructed Prominent home as your primary residence.
  • You're a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, aged 18 or older.
  • You sign a purchase agreement between May 27, 2025, and 2030—or already have one with a Prominent Homes GST amendment clause included.
